Announcing: Fintech NerdCon - The Event by operators for operators

OMG we're doing this! 19th and 20th November, Miami Fl. Tickets on Sale NOW.

Hey Fintech Nerds 👋

Unbelievably excited to share, we’re launching an event!

Fintech NerdCon. By Fintech nerds for Fintech nerds. Not in the Venetian. Not in Vegas. No sales meetings, no booths. Just the best content in the industry, time to be around your peers and some incredible hands-on experiences.

Imagine if Lenny’s Substack, Comicon, and your Fintech obsession had a baby.

Practical insights, workshops, and hackathons. Get better at your craft. Learn from peers. Find the next great hire, or bestie for life. And you won’t believe the speakers we got. (announcements coming soon).

Curious?

Content Curated by the Best in the Industry

Meet the Content Council.

Curating your experience 👆

Part Justice League, part Fintech nerd, 100% the curators of Fintech Nerdcon. Making super engaging content is hard, but these folks are some of the best in the industry. They’re putting together an agenda that you don’t want to miss.

Yes. Keynotes, firesides, panels with speakers you won’t see at other conferences.

But also

  • Rants - Operators screaming into the void (well, an audience) about something that needs to be fixed, changed or is just downright annoying

  • Failure therapy - Folks who’ve been there, done it, and got the scars, sharing what happened and what they learned along the way.

  • Bootcamps and Workshops - Go through a mock regulatory exam as a Fintech product manager, or fix weird ISO8583 edge cases with engineering nerds.

  • Hackathons and Roundtables - What happens if we mash up open finance and model context protocol? Who’s gonna make AI Agent authentication work?

The Experience

Fintech Nerds crave community. They’d often rather hang out in the lobby than on the show floor because they want to be around each other. They need the space to do that and share what they love.

We've created a space where you can get better at your craft, network, and learn at your own pace. We have one main stage, so no content FOMO. We have hackathons, roundtables, and classroom-style workshops where product managers, engineers, and even those crazy compliance folks can understand and work through industry problems. Together.

Want to sponsor something different than just another sales booth? We’ll curate something amazing for you. Here’s your link.

Why launch an event?

Great question.

It’s all Alex Johnson’s fault. He and I were reflecting on another trip to the Venetian and Vegas, and those shows crush at what they do, but there’s also a gap. For something different. Smaller. More community-focused.

The same people who read Fintech Takes, Fintech Business Weekly, This Week in Fintech, Fintech Leaders, and Brainfood. AKA you. Just happen to be the most influential operators and people who make things in the industry. If we can create an environment you actually want to be at. Imagine what else we could do together.

Turns out, sponsors love that. You’re kind of a hard persona to please. But that’s where we come in. We help sponsors show up the right way, by solving problems and moving the industry forward.

Oh hey sponsors 👋

How do I find out more?

Oh I know this one!

Head to fintechnerdcon.com Or, hit reply to this email.

Who’s behind this?

There’s no way I could pull this off alone. I’m a keyboard monkey.

Thankfully, the founding team includes Joy Schwartz and Colton Pond.

Joy Schwartz has spent years building community, running standout events in the fintech world, and more recently, helping grow a pre-seed AI startup. She’s worked with some of the best—like Fintech Nexus—bringing people together through content that truly resonates. Joy has a knack for making things happen and connecting the right people. We’re lucky to have her on the team!

Colton Pond, CMO of LoanPro and creator of incredible marketing experiences like the Utah Salt flats is a master of bringing concepts to life. He’s a brand builder, marketer and ball of energy. He’s also your first port of call if you want sponsorship.

And then there’s me 👋. I’ve always wanted a conference with a video game corner, no FOMO between stages, and time to bump into people and get hands-on with the product. So that’s what NerdCon is. If you’ve ever enjoyed my content, it would mean the world if you went ahead and bought a ticket so that I can thank you in person for reading :)

What happens now?

I cross my fingers and hope you guys show up and its not Fyre Fest 😇.

In all seriousness. You can sign up to learn more here. We’ll spam you with updates occasionally about building the event, speaker announcements, but always with a little character.
